Before I get to the prayer requests, I wanted to share some PRAISES...
- First of all, Steve and Pastor had a great trip to Mexico and back. They always seem to find adventure... like being detained at the border, because the rental car they were driving had recently been used in a federal crime. Steve said the border patrol had their machine guns drawn. (Oh my!) So again, as much "fun" as they run into... we are grateful for their safe return!
- Also, as I mentioned in class, my childhood best friend has just surrendered to the call of missions. I am soooo very happy for her. She's such a sweet girl... turning 40 in a few weeks... never been married... still at our home church in Spartanburg. Please pray for her (Stephanie D.), that the Lord would place a hedge of protection around her, that the lies & discouragement of the enemy would not be able to penetrate through (I know a little something about that.), and that the right doors would be opened before her, that she would be in exactly the place God would have her be.
- Rita's daughter, Karel, is still pregnant... praise the Lord! The bleeding has subsided, but she is still experiencing very rough morning sickness. Please pray for her, regarding that, and for a continued healthy pregnancy and baby.
Now for the other PRAYER REQUESTS...
Pray for Rita, who is traveling back to Pigeon Forge to spend time with family this week. She will return to the beach on Thursday, so remember her while she's on the road.
Pray for her former boss, who is actually on our prayer sheet (unsaved)... his name is Sirkan. He is no longer with the company, so pray the Lord would place Christians in his path, that would minister to him, and share the Gospel with him, wherever he may be.
Pray for Emily's son, Jack, who's had some type of bug this weekend... was throwing up Saturday night. Pray that the rest of the family doesn't get it.
Pray Rita's daughters... Karel, I mentioned above, for healthy pregnancy... for Kandace, for all of her health problems, for extra grace where needed, and for wisdom for her doctors... and for Kendra (and Matt), for God's Will regarding the possible adoption of a baby girl.
Pray for Anita's upcoming back surgery, in September.
Pray for my birth-mom, who is battling heart problems... was supposed to have surgery, but they cancelled, due to complications with heart rate, etc. (They don't feel she would make it through the surgery.) I'm hoping to get to go back up there soon, pray for guidance there.
Pray for a young lady whom I've been inviting to our class for well over a year now. She lost her husband a few weeks ago (pancreatic cancer), so she's just come back to church. I spoke to her at great length last night after church, and had prayer with her. She is very broken (as expected), so she needs lots of love and support from Christian friends. She sounded excited about coming to our class, so please make every effort to befriend her and make her feel welcome. Her name is Erica.
Also, please be in much prayer for our Good News Clubs, which will be starting back in September. We still need workers, so if you have a few hours to spare on Thursday afternoons, from Sept to Nov, we'd love to have you help us out at Forestbrook Elementary. All workers are required to go through the CEF training (which CEF is offering here this Saturday, from 8 am to 4:30 pm... the church will pay registration fee for all GNC workers). Pray about it, but regardless of whether you can help out or not, we can definitely use your prayers!

OTHER CLASS NEWS...
In our study the past couple of weeks, we were reminded of the importance of living holy, godly lives... and to be the women God called us to be. It really spoke to my heart, because for one thing, I know how difficult it is to "let go" of some things that sometimes lead us down wrong paths. We have God's Word to teach us His ways, and most of all, His Will. As our lesson points out, it is impossible for us to have an accurate understanding of God's Will without following through on a firm committment to study His Word. My prayer is that we would each seek His Will each and every day.
The key things I pray we all remember is that:
1. We are walking in line with God's Will when we are progressing in godliness and holiness.
2. We grow in holiness as we become increasingly separated from the sinful desires of the world.
Thanks, Ladies, for your prayers! Please be in prayer for our class... and for each one of our class members.
Have a great week!
Love,
Lois
